Vivi Moreno

RSVP

“Immigration and Urban Agriculture”

Join us as we continue the tough conversations that will enlighten and activate our best selves.

We welcome you to gain insight into how matters of people, place, and green space matter – in Chicago and beyond.

Vivi Moreno is a Native of Maracaibo, Venezuela. A queer immigrant who has been living in Chicago for almost 10 years. Vivi organizes with the Semillas de Justicia Community Garden. A garden overseen by the Little Village Environmental Justice Organization that services over 40 immigrant families in the Little Village neighborhood. Vivi is also a 1/3 worked-owner of Catatumbo Cooperative Farm. A worker cooperative urban farm formed by three Queer, womxn and Gender Non-conforming immigrants in South Chicago. She spends her spare time farming, and imagining a world where people of color can have sovereign and reciprocal relationships with land. She knows this road isn’t challenging but she was born for La Lucha. She likes spending lots of time in nature, and having conversations about cats.

We are in for an amazing experience as we gather here to gain and share insight on these matters.

More info on Vivi is here (link opens in new window).

This experience is free and open to the public. Excited to see you!

At Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance we hope to accommodate you in you having your best experience. If you have a request for accommodations, please contact Mattie Wilson at mwilson@garfieldpark.org or 773-638-1766.
