2nd Wednesday Lecture: Going Green (Without Spending Much Green)

September 14, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Going Green (Without Spending Much Green): Low- and No-Cost Ways to Make a Difference

“Green living” can be an overwhelming concept; instead of trying to do everything “right,” learn about inexpensive ways to lessen your environmental impact and consider choosing a few that fit your lifestyle.  We’ll discuss everything from energy use to purchasing practices and you’ll leave feeling empowered to take action.

This session will be led by Kristen Pratt, Sustainability Manager at the Chicago Academy of Sciences / Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.  Kristen has led the Nature Museum’s Chicago Conservation Corps (C3) for the past 8 years, training Chicago residents to serve as sustainability leaders in their communities.  To-date, C3 Leaders have planned and implemented more than 600 projects, reaching every ward in Chicago.   Learn more at www.chicagoconservationcorps.org.
