2nd Wednesday Lecture: Holi

March 8, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Holi Celebration of Colors

The 2nd Wednesday Lecture for March teams up with the Indo-American Heritage Museum to celebrate Holi, the festival of colors from India which marks the arrival of spring and new energies. People from all walks of life without the distinctions of caste, class, age, and gender come together and play Holi. Holi also celebrates Krishna, and the legend of Holika and Prahalad. Although Holi has religious roots, it has become more fun and festive with dancing, singing, and throwing of powdered colors on each other.

In addition to the lecture portion of the evening, there will be ‘Kathak’ dance by students of India Dance School run by Gauri Jog.

We hope you come and celebrate Holi in an interactive way!
