2nd Wednesday Lecture Series: Ready, Set, Compost!

April 11, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

View inside of a worm bin with shredded newspaper and cut up food scraps on top of worm castings.

Whether you live in an apartment or have lots of land, you can start composting your food scraps! This lecture will go over the various composting systems, common pitfalls, and tips for success. And while you’re here, check out our Demonstration Garden to see our compost systems in action! We’ll prep our outdoors bins so you can see what an active heated pile should look like.

About the presenter: Mattie Wilson, the Sustainability and Adult Programs Manager at Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance, enjoys teaching others how easy it can be to compost. Overseeing the composting program at GPC for the past seven years, her experiences range from worm bins, to outdoors vessels and bokashi.
