Ikenobo Ikebana Exhibit

Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arranging and Ikenobo is the first school established to teach this art form. The Ikenobo School has been in the same location in Kyoto, Japan for over 1,000 years and is currently led by the 45th generation of the Ikenobo family: Senei Ikenobo. The Chicago Chapter of the Ikenobo School is one of the oldest in North America and recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary. The members of this chapter bring the floral art forms of the Ikenobo School to Garfield Park yearly and exhibit the art of ikebana. Enjoy the sense of space and peace created by this ancient art form.
