In Collaboration with Garfield Park Conservatory, Old Town School presents The Green Line Exchange featuring Sistazz of the Nitty Gritty.

Sistazz of the Nitty Gritty (named by Artist/Musician Lonnie Holley) are clarinetist/vocalist Angel Bat Dawid, pianist/vocalist Anaiet and bassist Brooklynn Skye Scott. Emerging from the Great Black music traditions of Chicago, and active Chicago Black Artist Union Members, this ensemble comes together with a myriad of musical backgrounds, textures, and sounds relying heavily on spontaneous compositions and improvisation.

Old Town School seeks to celebrate the Green Line’s important cultural heritage, and bridge neighborhood segregation, through a series of collaborative residencies. The Green Line Exchange includes a variety of performance and educational activities with the School’s partners on the south and west sides as well as the School’s Lincoln Square location.

Join us online or in-person! Please select your desired option when registering. This program is free but we welcome donations to help offset program costs. Automated captioning will be available for the virtual experience.

Registration Closes Wednesday August 25th at 4:30pm
