Heads up: This is a 3-part class that meets once a week for 3 consecutive Saturdays. It’s not three days in a row—this format is intentional to give you time to reflect, explore, and apply what you’ve learned between sessions.
What is The Glass House?
The Glass House is not just another social media workshop—it’s a creative lab set inside one of Chicago’s most stunning living museums. You’ll learn how to tell stories rooted in your environment, using your phone, your perspective, and your imagination. Think of it as part media training, part nature immersion, part content creation playground.
Who is this class for?
You’ve got a phone and a message—you just need to shape it.
You’re a creative, student, content newbie, or just social-curious.
You want to learn how to make media that feels real, rooted, and resonant.
You’re curious about how plants, ecosystems, and people’s stories intersect.
You want a space where nature meets new skills.
No fancy gear or experience needed—just curiosity and commitment.
What will I walk away with?
Without giving everything away:
You’ll build a mini content project over 3 weeks.
You’ll learn new ways to approach media making—with intention, clarity, and context.
You’ll leave with the skills, confidence, and mindset to continue practicing long after the final session.
Instructor: Esther Ikoro
Esther is a digital storyteller and science communicator with a gift for making nature feel personal and media feel magical. With years of experience blending culture, science, and accessibility, her classes are practical, powerful, and people-centered.
What do I need to bring?
Smartphone (any kind)
Phone charger
Notebook & pen
Comfortable clothes (we may move between indoor & outdoor spaces)
Wi-Fi and seating are provided. You’ll have access to tools, prompts, and group support. Come ready to explore.
Why at the Conservatory?
Because nature is content. And context. And community. The Conservatory gives you an immersive, unexpected backdrop to challenge the fast, flat pace of online content. This space helps you slow down and get clear. It’s a creative classroom under glass.
Spots are limited. Reserve your place in the lab.
