Join us at the Garfield Park Conservatory to celebrate Black History Month and the enduring legacy of jazz music. Enjoy a concert by the legendary Margaret Murphy-Webb and her band from the South Side Jazz Coalition. Ms. Margaret has curated a selection of jazz classics to guide the audience on a historic journey through this genre, which is so fundamental to Black culture and American music.

Tickets: Free with registration. Space is limited; if you register and are no longer able to make it, please let us know so we can open up the ticket.

About Margaret Murphy-Webb:
Ms. Margaret Murphy was raised on the Westside near Marshall High School. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the South Side Jazz Coalition. She is a graduate of Chicago State University with a B.M. in Music Performance. Margaret was named Chicago’s Jazz Hero in 2018 for her work in revitalizing jazz on the south side and presenting free community programs. Margaret is a member of the City of Chicago Cultural Council, The Chicago Jazz Festival Committee and the Chicago Peace Fellows.
