Join us in person at Garfield Park Conservatory to learn about closed terrariums and leave with a one-gallon woodland terrarium designed by you!
This workshop includes:
- An overview of closed terrarium systems
- Time and materials for each participant to create one 1-gallon woodland terrarium with small fern plants and moss
- Tips for maintaining healthy plants in closed terrariums
During this workshop, instructor Emilia Arellano will guide participants step by step as they assemble their own closed terrariums using small woodland plants and provide care recommendations. Emilia has been working in urban horticulture for over 5 years and is the Urban Gardening Education Manager with the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance.

For all fee-based programs and tours, we are able to provide full refunds up to two weeks prior to the program date. Within two weeks, we can offer a credit for a future class, or a refund in the event that we have a waitlist for the program and we can fill your spot.
