Black History and Botany Tours with Urban Roots Teen Docents
February 26, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Come celebrate and learn about Black history through a free, interactive tour with our Urban Roots teen docent program! Many of the plants growing at the Conservatory have deep significance to Black history, and the ways we think about horticulture has been shaped by so many Black scientists, artists, and thinkers. To honor and celebrate these plants, people, and legacies, our Urban Roots teens have woven together stories and information on botany, ecology, horticulture, Black culture, and Black history. To meet our teen docents and learn about their plant research, come visit the Conservatory!
Choose a time slot and sign up for your guided tour on Eventbrite. Please remember to make a reservation to visit the Conservatory for the time of your arrival. Head to the Community Room (adjacent to the lobby) five minutes before your scheduled tour time.
