Music Under Glass: From Mozart to Havana
April 28, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for our final concert in the Cuban series on Sunday, April 28! The cultural climate in Cuba has always been affected by Spanish idioms as well as strong Cajun and African influences which often prevail. However, the classical backbone is always within reach of the composers. The rigors of the western classical music in Europe served as giant underpinnings for Cuban composers featured on this program with works of prominent Cuban composers Jose White and Ernesto Lecuona. Performance will include works from Mozart, Dvorak and Strauss. The listeners will be presented with music from both continents and will at once captivated by passionate music filtered through the tastes and flavors of their cultures.
