Join artist and farmer Alexandra Antoine for a discussion on culinary reflections in art.

This lecture will focus on how Alexandra has been combining food, art and farming in her practice using various art mediums. Alexandra will share culinary experiences from her travels throughout the African diaspora and specific authors and texts that have shaped the path she’s currently journeying on.

Alexandra Antoine is an interdisciplinary artist and farmer based in Chicago, IL. Her agricultural work is an acknowledgement and remembrance of her ancestors who worked the land of Ayiti while growing her relationship to land. She explores Caribbean foodways, family and memory through storytelling and art. Portraiture, farming and apprenticing in traditional artistic practices of the African diaspora are all pathways for her ideas to take form.

Auto-generated captioning will be available.
Registration closes at 6:00pm Central Time when the session begins.
This program is free but we welcome donations to help offset programming costs.
