Join Sawyer in a talk about the ways that he uses photography, collage, and graffiti-writing to explore how personal narratives intersect with our environment.

Roderick Sawyer is a Southside-based creative that explores the importance of language and storytelling through his art practices. Using 35mm/120 Film as the focal point, he combines it with other objects from different parts of his life, such as Spanish notas, random written ideas from zines created at work, and scanned book text to bring his audience into his world of thought. His artist books and collages function as tangible and archival experiences that allow viewers to learn about his personal process of creating and organizing material.

Auto-generated captioning will be available.

Registration closes at 6:00pm Central Time when the session begins.

This program is free but we welcome donations to help offset programming costs.
