Beginning Beekeeping Class

Spend the day with our Head Beekeeper, Marcin Matelski, to learn the basics of beekeeping: equipment, bee biology and behavior, colony management, and hive products. This comprehensive lecture-based class is a prerequisite for joining the GPCA volunteer beekeeper program. Please note: the class does not involve a hands-on component with the hives.

These classes tend to fill up quickly, so be sure to register early. Pre-registration is required.

Accommodations: When you register for this workshop you will be asked to provide any accommodations requests. If you have any questions or would like to request an additional accommodation, please contact access@garfieldpark.org, at least 72 hours prior to the event start.

– …two weeks prior –> Full refund (minus processing fee)
– …between two weeks and 48 hours prior and there is a waitlist –> Full refund (minus processing fee)
– …between two weeks and 48 hours and there is not a waitlist –> Credit to be used by June 30th
– …within 48 hours –> Credit to be used by June 30th
