Beyond Basic Beekeeping

Go beyond the basics with this hands-on class. This class will deal with late spring and early summer management decisions that can impact the rest of the season for the bees and the beekeeper. Come and learn how to “read” a colony and assess how a hive is performing. Some of the things we’ll cover will be varroa mites, re-queening, splitting and honey production. We’ll inspect several hives and compare how each one is doing.
Rain date for the class will be Sunday, July 16 1:30-4:30pm.
