Beyond Basic Beekeeping
May 18, 2019 @ 1:45 pm - 3:45 pm
Go beyond the basics with this hands-on class. This class will deal with late spring and early summer management decisions that can impact the rest of the season for the bees and the beekeeper. Come and learn how to “read” a colony and assess how a hive is performing. We’ll cover the signs of a healthy vs unhealthy colony, disease recognition, re-queening, splitting and honey production and colony potential. We’ll inspect several hives to compare how each one is doing. A detailed email of what to bring or what will be available to borrow will be sent within a week of the class. This class is weather dependent, so the rain date for this class is set for Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 11am-1pm.
Cancellation Policy: If you find this class date no longer works for you, we will gladly refund your money if it is more than two weeks prior to the class date. If it is within two weeks, we can either move your registration to a different class date or you can use the money as a credit towards another class offering before the end of our fiscal year (June 30).
