Join us for a virtual 6-week botanical relief printing class!

In this beginner’s printmaking class, artists will learn alongside printmaker-educator, Sarita Garcia, in all forms of relief printmaking. In this 6-week class, artists will gather inspiration through the vast plant life at Garfield Park Conservatory, from root to flower. Together, artists will carve their own block, use a variety of inks and colors, to be later printed onto various surfaces such as fabric and paper. This course will also encourage intergenerational learning to celebrate each person’s connection to the botanical environment that surrounds them. Get ready to carve, cut and roll!

Class available for ages 18+. Students must live in Chicagoland Area.

Classes will take place virtually on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:00pm Central Time from October 12th-November 16th. Students will have the opportunity to attend one in-person class. Date TBD. A virtual option will still be available for those who prefer to join from home. Students will also gather virtually on one additional day for a culminating event. Date TBD by students & instructor.

Class Fee (materials included):
