About Rosalba Valdez:
Rosalba Valdez is a Mexican-American singer from Chicago currently working on her debut, self-titled album. Since releasing her debut EP, “Yo Soy Mexicana,” in November of 2019, Rosalba has performed all over the city with her band, “Los Valientes,” at different venues and cultural events. Most notably, Rosalba performed for the SELENA Tribute Concert hosted by the National Museum of Mexican Art at the Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park in 2023.
Rosalba grew up in an activist environment, regularly singing and playing guitar for Sunday church services, community events, rallies, and more, learning about the power and importance of music for creating positive social change. Her latest singles, “Mamá,” “LUCHA DE FAMILIAS,” and “She’s Living in Sanctuary,” have diverse styles ranging from mariachi to polka to Latin pop, yet have similar themes of healing and empowerment for her community. Rosalba’s music showcases a variety of Latin genres with a bilingual lyrical component due to her Chicanx background.
