Tortilla Sensory Play with Luna Y Cielo Play cafe
October 11 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

We cordially invite families, members of the community and children to partake in a workshop that celebrates Hispanic Latino Heritage Month through discovering textures passed down through generations. Little ones are not just making tortillas but rather connecting or reconnecting with culture love and memory through play.
Tortilla Sensory Play — a Luna y Cielo original — invites children to experience the magic of tortillas through play, culture, and all five senses.
Little ones will:
Explore maíz on a mini metate
Use their manitas to shape and roll masa de maíz
Press tortillas with a child-sized tortilla press
Practice rolling out flour tortillas with a rolling pin
And finally, cook their creations on the comal and enjoy a warm bite!
It’s a hands-on adventure where kids discover the love and tradition behind tortillas caseras, while connecting to Latinx culture in the most delicious way
