2nd Wednesday Lecture: The Art of Urban Foraging

A Journey to Reconnecting & Remembering

Foraging – “to obtain food or provisions from (a place).”

We welcome you to share space in the name of appreciating the lovely plants and nature that is within and around us – with Nina Lawrin, of loveren collections!

Tips, tricks, and lessons learned in navigating through the unique challenges and possibilities to safely forage within Chicago will be discussed, so that you too can reconnect to the land and create a healthier environment for generations to come.

We will discuss some challenges and policies that surround local foraging as well as parallel challenges of the San community of Namibia and Native American communities here in the U.S. – especially in the face of climate change.

*We will not be foraging within Garfield Park Conservatory – this includes the indoor and outdoor areas of the space*

This experience is free and open to the public. Please RSVP!

At Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance we hope to accommodate you in you having your best experience. If you have an accommodation request related to a disability, please contact us here. We look forward to assisting you.

This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
