UNFOLDING: A Sound Meditation Experience

RSVP

Join singer, teacher and sound guide, Davin Youngs for this unique immersion in meditative sounds amidst the unfolding growth of the Garfield Park Conservatory. Blending ancient and contemporary tools, Davin uses his voice, crystal singing bowls, tuning forks and other overtone-emitting instruments to transport participants to a place of deep rest, growth and elevation. What makes this journey truly special is the subtle integration of electronic beats and emergence of music that reflects the wonder and beauty and light of all living beings present. To participate is only to receive. Davin guides the sound and vibration to do rest. You will walk away from this subtle, yet powerful event feeling therapeutic and restorative change.

No meditation experience is necessary.

Participants are invited to bring a mat or blanket to sit on, sit in chairs provided or silently move throughout the space. Please RSVP so we know how many to expect. There is a $20 suggested donation, though pay what you can! It is much appreciated. We’ll be able to accept cash, credit and checks at the door.

Davin Youngs is a Chicago based singer, teacher and sound guide, leading individuals and groups into elevated sonic experiences. He uses improvised singing and intentional sound in performance, workshops and private sessions to hold space for change. His performed sound experiences take participants on a mindful journey, incorporating the voice, traditional healing instruments, looping and electronic beats, none of which are ever the same. He has brought improvised singing and sound experiences to companies and organizations like Coca-Cola, Google and Chicago Public Schools and has worked in the private voice studio with prominent artists hip-hop, punk and gospel. Davin is also a Reiki level 2 practitioner and the music director at Grace Chicago Church.
