Guided Wellness Walk at Garfield Park Conservatory

Join guest instructor Navraaz Basati for a sensory wellness walk through the Conservatory, where we’ll explore the vibrant colors and unique shapes of the plants.

The guided walk will take place from 9:00am to 10:30am.

After the walk, from 10:30am to 11:00am participants are welcome to join an optional tea ceremony paired with a creative watercolor session on seed paper. This reflective activity invites you to capture your walk’s memories through art, free from judgment, as we transform sensory impressions into personal expressions. All supplies and tea are provided.

*Please note that this walk will take place prior to the open public hours of the Conservatory. Chicago Park District staff may be watering and conducting general maintenance during the wellness walk.

About the instructor
Navraaz Kaur Basati was born and raised in the Midwest to immigrant parents that both came from farming families in Punjab, India. With an educational background in the human sciences, film, business, and environmental sciences, she has enjoyed working with entities such as Americorps, Prima Films, Ltd. (Singapore), Chicago Public Radio, Barrington Area Conservation Trust, University of Illinois Extension and as a contractor with Chicago Botanic Garden and Forest Preserves of Cook County. She is certified as a yoga teacher (RYT-500), a Forest Therapy Guide (ANFT), and in Horticultural Therapy (Chicago Botanic Garden). Navraaz currently manages her farm, Kambala Farms, where she focuses on regenerative agriculture and hosts wellness based workshops and walks through her company, Wandering Paths, LLC.
