Healing with Nature; Guided Walk and Plant Based Therapy

Join Horticultural Therapist, Forest Therapy Guide, and Yogi, Navraaz Kaur Basati on a Forest Bathing journey through the Garfield Park Conservatory. Each walk will begin with grounding activities that include breathwork and sensory work with plants that will lead participants into the Forest Bathing walk around the Conservatory. At the end of each walk, there will be a tea ceremony that highlights plants from our walk as well as an art-based activity using plants and plant material.
Families are welcome. Please register all participants age 12 and older individually.

Navraaz Kaur Basati is a certified Horticultural Therapist, Forest Therapy Guide, and Yogi who was born and raised within the Midwest. With an educational and career background in the human sciences as well as in film and radio documentary work, she has received her training from institutions such as the Chicago Botanic Gardens and the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy to combine her previous skills with her current passion for the environment and its healing effects. Navraaz also volunteers as a Master Gardener and Master Naturalist in Cook County and thoroughly enjoys the company of plants and people.
