Cherchez la Femme is a Chicago based musical ensemble dedicated to presenting the music expressed by women across the millennium. A duo, made up of co-founders, Lisa Goethe-McGinn (flutes) and Erica Lessie (cello), that presents and educates their audiences with a range of music composed by women from Hildegard von Bingen to Billie Holiday to Contemporary and World Composers and all in between. The classical duo will present a concert experience of music inspired by nature for flute and cello by women composers. From scenic lands to butterflies to lush gardens, this program contains works by Joan Tower, Valerie Coleman, Hilary Tann, Marilyn Bliss and many more that evokes the power of nature in our world through music.
