A Classically Trap Experience with Yanna Cello & Company

Join Yanna Cello for a classically trap experience, fusing classical music with your favorite hip hop, R&B, old school and afro beat tunes! Who knew trap could be so classy?

About the Artist:

Yanna Cello is a classically trained, but trapfully raised, cellist from the south side of Chicago. She quit playing the cello for seven years after facing much adversity at the University of Illinois School of Fine Arts. After switching her major from music, she graduated from U of I with her bachelor’s in Economics and Environmental Sustainability. After earning her Master’s in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago in 2017, Yanna decided to relearn her craft and approach music with a fresh new lens. Yanna now combines her classical training with her love for hip hop, old school, afro beats and R&B. Since age 13, she has performed nationwide for entities like McDonald’s, BET, BMW, Macy’s, the Congressional Black Caucus, the Museum of Science and Industry, Hilton, Utah Jazz vs. LA Lakers, Under Armour, Facebook, Afropunk, Courvoisier, Maker’s Mark, Rémy Martin, Afropunk and AfroTech. Within the past few years, she has performed with artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Twista, Jamilla Woods, and Phor from VH1’s Black Ink Crew Chicago. She has been featured on ABC7 Chicago, NBC News, WFMT Radio, WTTW Chicago, 107.5 WGCI, Ebony Magazine, Windy City Live, Chicago Tribune’s RedEye, and WCIU’s The Jam. In addition to performing, Yanna uses her talents to raise funds for music education in underprivileged and under resourced Chicago communities through her Tip An Artist, Tip A Cause benefit concert. Who knew trap could be so classy?

You can stay updated on her future performances, fundraisers, her journey, and hear more of her music at www.yannacello.com and on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook all at “YannaCello.”
