This special evening will also celebrate new music from Son Monarcas, featuring recently released and forthcoming songs alongside favorites from the group’s repertoire.
About Son Monarcas:
Son Monarcas is a Latin Folk Fusion ensemble led by Mercedes Inez and Irekani Ferreyra. Their performance traces the musical migration from the U.S. to Latin America, blending indie soul with traditional son and cumbia. Deeply rooted in Afro-Mestizo musical traditions, they use original compositions and participatory performance to explore the Indigenous, African, and Spanish influences on Latin American music and dance. Their work invites audiences to connect through rhythm, culture, and collective learning.
