Soul of the Stone: September 5 – November 30, 2026
In partnership with Gallery Guichard, the exhibit is an exploration of the rich sculptural tradition of Zimbabwe’s Shona Tribe. The exhibit tells the story of ancestors communicating through the art of stone, revealing theprofound connection between the stone and the spiritual world. The Conservatory hosts five of the larger sculptures within the Sensory Garden beds, creating a colorful and fragrant interplay with the beauty of the stone.
The Garfield Park Conservatory & Garden’s installation is one of five across the city, with Gallery Guichard, South Shore Cultural Center, City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs at the Chicago Cultural Center and the Field Museum.
