Join us as we celebrate the beloved honey bee. Our volunteer beekeepers are hosting demonstrations to learn the role bees play with pollination and the food we eat, we’ll taste honey from around Chicago, and extract honey from our hives!
Wednesdays, September 7, 14, & 21 the Conservatory is staying open until 9 pm to provide visitors an extra hour to view solarise before the exhibit closes on September 22.

With a focus on plants from tropical geographic locations, techniques include cuttings, division, and layering methods that have proven successful with our collection.
Sunday, September 25 – Join us for a unique Viennese Café performance and support the Conservatory.
Spend the day with our Head Beekeeper, Marcin Matelski, to learn the basics of beekeeping: equipment, hive design and construction, bee biology and behavior, bee management and bee products.
Our volunteer composters hold weekly demonstrations showcasing different ways you can compost your food and garden scraps.
